A Weak Day Master has limited structural support relative to the forces draining or controlling it. It is a chart balance, not a judgment of character.
A Weak Day Master (身弱) has relatively limited support from season, roots, Peers, or Resource compared with the Output, Wealth, or Authority forces acting on it. “Weak” is a technical balance label. It does not mean weak character, poor health, low ability, or a bad life.
Definition
A Day Master becomes under-supported when the chart asks it to produce, control, or withstand more qi than its roots and support can readily supply. The classification is comparative: it describes the relationship between support and demand across the whole chart.
Interpretation usually looks for usable support or a reduction in load. That can mean Resource, Peers, a seasonal shift, or a relationship that redirects pressure. The correct response depends on structure; simply adding more of the Day Master element is not a universal rule.
Method, not mystique
Check whether the Day Master is in season, resting, imprisoned, or otherwise poorly placed in the month branch.
Identify branch roots, hidden stems, Resource, and Peer support, then test whether clashes or combinations preserve that support.
Compare support with Output drain, Wealth responsibility, and Authority pressure. State the strongest reason for the final classification.
A Fire Day Master born in winter with no Fire root and little Wood Resource may be under-supported, especially if strong Water Authority and Earth Output are present. A reading would first identify real sources of support and then examine timing; it should not translate the label into a claim that the person lacks courage or competence.
Do not confuse
Not the same concept. Day Master strength is a structural relation among chart symbols, not a psychological diagnosis.
Lack of roots is one signal, but visible Resource, combinations, and seasonal support can change the result.
An extremely under-supported Day Master may, under strict conditions, follow a dominant force instead of using ordinary support logic.
Interpretive boundary
Weakness can be ordinary, extreme, or part of a following structure. Those are not interchangeable. A genuinely following chart may work with the dominant force rather than trying to restore conventional balance, so classification must precede advice.
